Recently, I received a wonderful e-mail from guitarist, Will Kriski. It’s very rare that I see a guitarist who truly possess’s an ability to authentically swing and play in the pocket as a rock player. Additionally, Mr. Kriski was kind enough to share a few transcriptions he did on my intro solos to Lessons #11 and #12. Will is a fantastic guitarist that also offers lessons over Skype. I would highly recommend him as a teacher; especially to players who are looking for a teacher that can play a wide range of styles.
Will started playing guitar at age 11 thanks to bands such as Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne. He eventually started to study Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani and the ‘shredders’. These were the most technical players of the day. In 2005, after 24 years of playing, He started taking jazz guitar lessons on the side and was inspired to pursue further study. He studied at Mount Royal College in their Music Performance Diploma program in Jazz Studies. He’s now focusing on teaching students how to play the guitar.
